About This Quote

When I first started talking to my therapist, I actually withdrew into myself. It was as if he was extracting my thoughts one by one and asking me to explain them. I didn’t like that at all. It was as if he was extracting my thoughts and then telling me what they meant and why I had said them.

As I tried to explain myself, I found that there was a great deal of judgment attached to my thoughts. But, it is true that getting inside your own head is very hard work and you sometimes have to withdraw from the world in order to see your own thoughts clearly.
